Established in 1992 by the visionary Dr. Basheer Ahmed, the Hyderabad Society of North Texas (HSNT) was born from a simple yet profound desire: to create a home away from home. What began as a small gathering has blossomed into a thriving institution, serving as the cultural heartbeat for the Hyderabadi diaspora in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for over three decades.
Our mission is singular but multifaceted: to keep the vibrant spirit of the “City of Pearls” alive in North Texas. We believe that being Hyderabadi is about more than just geography; it is a mindset defined by our legendary Tehzeeb (etiquette), our warmth, and our distinct linguistic and culinary heritage. We strive to be the bridge that connects the rich history of the Deccan to our modern lives in America.
HSNT provides a dedicated space for Hyderabadis across the spectrum—from students and new arrivals seeking a support system to families who have called DFW home for generations. We are a platform for networking, socialization, and mutual support, ensuring that no matter how far you are from the Charminar, you always have a community to lean on.
We bring our culture to life through vibrant annual events. Whether it is the joy of flying kites and sharing stories at our annual Spring Picnic or the elegance of donning traditional Sherwanis and Sarees for our formal Gala, every event is a celebration of who we are. Above all, we are dedicated to our youth. Our ultimate goal is to ensure our children inherit the pride, humility, and hospitality that make our heritage so special, empowering them to carry the Hyderabadi torch forward with grace.
Established in 1992 by Dr. Basheer Ahmed, the Hyderabad Society of North Texas (HSNT) is dedicated to one mission: keeping the spirit of the “City of Pearls” alive in DFW.
